1.1 This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) establishes the rules governing permissible use of the Maveon platform and services. This AUP is incorporated by reference into the Maveon Terms of Service and is binding on all Clients and their authorized users.
1.2 Violation of this AUP may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, without refund, and may expose you to civil or criminal liability.
The following uses are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination.
2.1 Illegal Activities. You must not use the Service to engage in, facilitate, or promote any activity that violates applicable federal, provincial, or international law, including but not limited to: fraud, money laundering, identity theft, unlicensed data collection, or activities violating privacy legislation.
2.2 Harmful or Dangerous Content. You must not configure a Chatbot to generate, distribute, or facilitate: (a) content that promotes, glorifies, or instructs on violence, self-harm, or terrorism; (b) child sexual abuse material or any sexual content involving minors; (c) instructions for creating weapons, explosives, or controlled substances; or (d) content designed to cause psychological harm to any individual.
2.3 Deception and Impersonation. You must not use the Service to: (a) impersonate any person, entity, government authority, or organization without authorization; (b) configure a Chatbot to claim to be human when sincerely asked whether it is an AI; (c) create deepfake content or otherwise misrepresent the source of communications; or (d) engage in phishing, social engineering, or fraudulent solicitation of personal or financial information.
2.4 Spam and Mass Unsolicited Communications. You must not use the Service to send or facilitate unsolicited bulk messages, commercial email without consent, or any communication that violates Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) or equivalent.
2.5 Intellectual Property Violations. You must not upload or use in Chatbot training any content that infringes any third-party copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property right without the right holder’s express authorization.
2.6 Privacy Violations. You must not use the Service to: (a) collect personal information from end users without an appropriate legal basis and privacy disclosure; (b) scrape, aggregate, or sell personal information collected through the Service; or (c) configure Chatbots to collect sensitive personal information (including health, financial, or government ID data) without appropriate safeguards and legal authority.
2.7 System Abuse. You must not: (a) attempt to circumvent subscription limits or access controls; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service; (c) introduce malware, viruses, or malicious code; (d) conduct denial-of-service attacks; or (e) probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of Maveon’s systems without written authorization.
3.1 The following use cases are permitted only subject to the additional requirements and safeguards set out in this Section:
3.2 Medical and Health Information. Chatbots deployed in health-related contexts must: (a) clearly disclose that they are AI systems and not licensed healthcare providers; (b) direct users to qualified medical professionals for diagnosis, treatment, or medical decisions; (c) not make specific diagnostic, therapeutic, or prescriptive recommendations; and (d) comply with all applicable health information laws including PIPEDA and, where applicable, HIPAA.
3.3 Legal Information. Chatbots providing information about legal matters must clearly state that the information provided does not constitute legal advice and that users should consult a qualified lawyer for advice specific to their circumstances.
3.4 Financial Information. Chatbots providing information about financial products, investments, or services must: (a) disclose that outputs are informational only and do not constitute financial advice or recommendations; (b) comply with applicable securities and financial services regulations; and (c) direct users to licensed financial advisers for investment decisions.
3.5 Employment and Hiring. Chatbots used in recruitment or hiring must not be configured to screen candidates based on protected characteristics under applicable human rights legislation.
3.6 Minors. Clients operating services directed at individuals under 13 must comply with applicable children’s online privacy laws and may not configure Chatbots to collect personal information from children without verifiable parental consent.
4.1 All content uploaded to train Chatbots, including documents, URLs, and text, must: (a) be accurate to the best of the Client’s knowledge; (b) not contain defamatory, discriminatory, or harassing content; and (c) comply with applicable advertising standards and consumer protection laws.
4.2 Clients are responsible for ensuring their Chatbots include appropriate disclosures, including that the user is interacting with an AI system and not a human representative.
5.1 If you become aware of any use of the Maveon platform that violates this AUP, please report it immediately to contact@maveon.ai with as much detail as possible. Maveon will investigate all credible reports and take appropriate action.
6.1 Maveon reserves the right to investigate any suspected violation of this AUP. Depending on the severity of the violation, Maveon may: (a) issue a warning and require corrective action; (b) suspend the Client’s account pending investigation; (c) permanently terminate the Client’s account without refund; and/or (d) report the conduct to law enforcement authorities.
6.2 Maveon’s determination of whether a violation has occurred is final and at Maveon’s sole reasonable discretion.
